There is no right way to create, just whatever’s right for you. And what’s right for you now may not be right for you later. Basically be open to change.

Now after saying all that, the reason I’ve been able to publish so many books is due to story structure and systems. When I first started making comics, there weren’t a lot of guides available. So I researched manga and cinema. My go-to book is Screenplay by Syd Field. So I try to know these core four elements before starting a script

  • Ending
  • Opening
  • Plot point/twist 1
  • Plot point/twist 2

These can all change as the story progresses but I find them to be helpful guides. A better explanation is on his official site https://sydfield.com/syd_resources/the-paradigm-worksheet/
